Dr. Dallas Donohoe and The Donohoe Lab is interested in dietary chemoprevention toward colorectal cancer as it relates to the microbial-derived metabolite called butyrate. Specifically, the goal is to identify the functional significance of butyrate (as it relates to the microbiome) in the colon and the mechanism by it protects against tumorigenesis.

Allison Maurer is a well known Sports Dietitian active in the Knoxville area. Well known for her employment at the University of Tennessee as the head of the UT's Athletics Nutrition Department, she has gone on to become the head sports nutrition specialists for the Pittsburgh Pirates. She has extensive experience and knowledge in the field of Sports Dietetics.
